Our Green Policy
Prism Creative recognises the necessity both to reduce carbon emissions, and to instigate business practices that permit sustainable future operation.
We're committed to achieving this by:
Reducing consumption and waste
At night all non-essential electrical equipment is turned off, as is the heating system. During the day these systems are only used as much as is necessary, and where they are we try to use newer more energy efficient technologies, such as small TFT screens and fluorescent lights.
To save on daily lunch deliveries to the office (or employees driving off-site on a daily basis) we buy in ingredients once a week and employees prepare their lunches on site - where possible using locally sourced ingredients.
Care is also taken in planning business journeys to reduce their number, and we're working to improve levels of car-sharing. To further reduce travel, employees are encouraged to work one day a week from home and use VPN and VOIP technology.
Re-using
Scrap paper is often printed on again, prior to being recycled. Double-sided printing is also widely employed.
Recycling
We recycle all scrap paper, cardboard, cans, plastic containers, glass bottles and batteries wherever possible. We also compost all our used teabags, coffee grinds and fruit waste.
Carbon Offsetting
Prism Creative offsets its Carbon Emissions with the World Land Trust (WLT), one of whose patrons is Sir David Attenborough. The WLT is working to preserve the world's most biologically important and threatened lands, and has helped purchase and protect over 350,000 acres of habitats rich in wildlife, in Belize, Costa Rica, India, the Philippines, South America and here the UK.
Promoting Sustainability
All paper used in the office is sourced from sustainable (managed) forests.
Additionally we encourage our clients to adopt similar policies and preferentially use suppliers with strong environmental credentials.
Educating
We're ensuring all our employees are aware of the importance of these activities and understand how and why to undertake them.
Constantly reviewing and improving policy
Whilst we've already significantly reduced our impact on the environment, we're constantly looking for ways to further reduce, reuse and recycle. We're currently examining the viability of switching to a sustainable energy supplier.
